The Mayor of Savannah-Georgia, USA, Mr. Van R. Johnson II has emphasized their commitment to building a lasting relationship grounded in respect, mutual learning, and cultural exchange with the City of Kumasi. He said Savannah and Kumasi has a lot to learn from each other and so they were willing to forge an official partnership between the two Cities.Mr. Van R. Johnson made these remarks when he led a team of councilors from Savannah -Georgia, USA to pay a courtesy call on the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly.

“We know that good relationships, real friendship, and sustaining partnerships last beyond Mayors’ administration and so it is my hope that when I become an ancestor, young people will come to represent the people of Savannah, and young people here will also come to Savannah to represent the people of Kumasi to continue with what has begun here today” Mr. Johnson said.The visiting Mayor said the delegation was totally impressed about what they have seen, felt, and experienced and that they will come back as ambassadors and investors of their own to tell the Kumasi story of rich culture and business opportunities.
