A passionate appeal has been made to Ghanaians to pursue peace and national unity in all endeavors, noting it is essential for prosperity and rapid development. Most Reverend Gabriel Justice Anokye, Metropolitan Archbishop of the Methodist Church, Kumasi, made a clarion appeal in his sermon delivered at the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving Service held on July 1, 2025.The maiden non-denominational prayer and thanksgiving programme, themed "Reflect, Reset, and Renew for National Prosperity," was held at the Calvary Charismatic Church auditorium in Ayigya, Kumasi, from 8:30 am to 10:30 am. The revered minister of God noted that it is paramount that Ghanaians, regardless of faith, ethnicity, politics, among other considerations, pray for national leaders, unity, peace, and the well-being of the nation in reference to 1 Timothy 2:1-4.He added that the Scriptures enjoin well-meaning individuals to pray for the good of the nation and for people in authority. He admonished Ghanaians, particularly those in authority, to be guided by divine wisdom, remain truthful, faithful, and transparent in prosecuting the national agenda."We need to reflect, reset, and renew for national prosperity by being guided by good morals, being accountable, being transparent, being truthful, and loving the nation," he advised.
